Notes

How it works

The trick is the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols in Unicode. Instead of formatting with HTML, the tool replaces each letter with its bold, italic, or mono equivalent. Standalone characters that LinkedIn displays without any trouble.

What does not work

Umlauts (ä, ö, ü) and accents stay unchanged. Unicode has no bold-formatted umlauts. In German text, the umlauts therefore drop out into the default font. This is a quirk of the standard, not a bug.

What we do not do

No servers, no cookies, no tracking. Your text stays in the browser. The entire code is visible in view-source: what you see is what runs.
